Pitt Meadows Civic Building
KMBR conducted a site options study for a new autonomous RCMP detachment located in Pitt Meadows. KMBR led a consultant team that explored 13 options at 10 sites identified by the City of Pitt Meadows. The team evaluated each site option based on high-level municipal and RCMP priorities and criteria. The final report received unanimous support from Council to proceed with the new detachment on the Harris Road site, which involves relocating the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery and athletic building currently there.
KMBR is now providing design services for the new two-storey civic building. It will provide all the spaces needed for a fully independent detachment including a 3-cell cell block. A generous amount space is dedicated to volunteer and community programs to allow them to grow and address the future needs of policing. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2023.
KMBR is also helping the City explore options for its new art gallery location.
The selected location for the replacement washroom + concession building is in Harris Road Park. KMBR’s design includes 13 completely private all-gender stalls, three standalone washrooms, storage space and a concession with cooking facilities. Construction is expected to completed in mid 2023.
