St. Helen’s Elementary School & Parish

The existing site required rezoning from “Residential” R5 zoning to Comprehensive Development based on “Public” P5. To obtain rezoning of the property KMBR was retained to work with the Planning Department on a suitable plan of development.

Rezoning was passed in December 2004 based on a Master Plan developed by KMBR which included a new parish office with rectory above to the west of the existing hall, and a new school to the east of the hall. Through fundraising, the parish has been able to buy an adjacent property with a house that can serve as a parish office and rectory.

The revised scheme is broken up into two phases:

• Phase 1 is a four classroom addition to the west of the existing gymnasium. Construction is scheduled for March 2011.

• Phase 2 is a new school building and turf field that will replace the existing. Fundraising for Phase 2 is ongoing.
