Pitt Meadows Golf Clubhouse Facility
Pitt Meadows, British Columbia
KMBR and the Pitt Meadows Building Committee conducted feasibility studies comparing options of total replacement versus additions and renovations, provided the club operation was not to be interrupted. The conclusion was to construct a new 25,000 square foot building on two levels which would provide excellent views — a feature that was not available in the original one-storey clubhouse.
The new clubhouse includes banquet rooms for 200, a dining room for 75, a cocktail lounge for 65, a meeting room for 20, full kitchen facilities, and administration on the upper floor. Located directly off the parking and golf course on the ground floor are Mens’ and Ladies’ lounges, full height lockers for all members, shower rooms, concession with kitchen, a Pro Shop, club storage and golf car storage. There is a 16'-0" x 150'-0" deck along the entire front of the building with unobstructed views overlooking the golf course.
The interior contemporary design features oak trims and vinyl fabric on the walls. Coffered acoustical textured ceiling and wall panels ensure acoustical comfort for conferences, weddings and similar club functions.
The exterior of the building utilizes traditional golf club elements: sloped roofs with large overhangs, striated stucco panels, and expansive windows with green tinted glass to reduce heat gain and soften the light. Green glass is also used in the balcony balustrades to allow maximum views of the golf course. “Dinoflex” rubber tiles are used on all exterior patios and balconies and approaches from the golf course. |
