Notre Dame Secondary School
Vancouver, British Columbia (Archdiocese of Vancouver)

Notre Dame Regional Secondary School replacement accommodates 650 students with the provision for future expansion to a maximum of 800 students. Design features includes a two-storey concourse with full-height glazing providing a connection with the playing field. The existing buildings will be clad with the same materials as the new buildings to unify the complex.

Extensive input from the neighbourhood during the design phase ensured this project’s success. The new school is a place the staff and students of Notre Dame Regional Secondary feel proud to call theirs.

The new school is being constructed in three phases to allow for the continuous occupation:

  • Phase 1 comprises a two-storey academic wing and seismic upgrading of the gymnasium and annex, which will become the arts block.

  • Phase 2 consists of a two-storey infill between the existing gymnasium and auditorium. It will contain support services as well as the chapel, cafeteria, multi-purpose room and home economics classrooms. The existing auditorium will be seismically upgraded.
  • Phase 3 comprises site-works including playing field grading and the construction of the parking and exterior soft and hard landscaping.
