Western Communities Police Building

This design-build project built in partnership with Van Maren Construction consists of three secure bays, 12 cells on the lower level, and offices and a parade room on the second level. It connects directly to the existing police station. A management office was provided on the third floor. Additional space on the third floor for future expansion was leased to Immigration Canada.

Green Design Measures include solar orientation, sunshades to eliminate high angle sunlight at south-facing windows which reduces Air Conditioning loads, natural and self-finishing materials, energy efficient HVAC equipment, daylighting and access to views, narrow floor plates so that all work stations are within six metres of exterior windows.
