Langara Neuropsych Renovation Project

Langara Residence is a three-storey facility originally built in 1989, located at 255 West 62nd Avenue in Vancouver. The project consists of renovations to the 1st floor of the East Wing to provide a 20-bed adult neuropsychiatric patient service. This facility remained operational during construction.

The renovation includes:

• Relocation of dining room and lounge to create a central living area;
• Upgrade of 11 existing rooms and cration of nine new rooms;
• Five new washrooms, two with showers and upgrade of finishes and fixtures to accomodate the needs of residents while creating a feeling of warmth and home;
• Creation of a new entry;
• New team care base and medication room designed to latest standards;
• Discrete secure room to provincial psychiatric standards;
• Two exterior landscaped courtyards with new fencing, pathways and visitor access gates to provide opportunities for residents to engage with the natural environment and promote healing.
