Kelowna General Hospital Master Plan - Parts 1 & 2
Kelowna, British Columbia
The Interior Health Authority (IHA) commissioned the partnership of KMBR and Farrow Partnership Architects (FPA) to develop a Master Plan of the Kelowna General Hospital site (KGH). The Master Plan will guide the immediate (0-5 years), mid (5-10 years) and long term (10-15 year) site development and expansion needs of the hospital taking into consideration the current projects being planned and future growth requirements.
The Master Plan focussed on acute care clinical and support services that are typically viewed as hospital based, and programs that are a part of or influence the delivery of acute care services as they pertain to the development of a “campus of care” model. The scope of the services included gathering information, facilitating stakeholder discussions, producing Master Plan documents, producing related Block Schematics taken to a component gross level suitable for order of magnitude capital cost estimating, working with the City of Kelowna Planning Department on traffic flow, analyzing and providing recommendations for site parking and site traffic access, and assisting to obtain stakeholders' approvals and providing advisory services in addition to working closely with the joint Steering Committee comprised of representatives from KGH, Facilities Management, and other Interior Health representatives. This project is in association with the Farrow Partnership.
