Margaret Ma Murray Community School

This 4,500 m2 K-6 school was built on a green field site in Fort St. John in response to significant enrolment pressures. The property is part of a larger site to be shared with a future middle school, and KMBR did the master planning for both the elementary and middle schools. KMBR led the programming for the new school by facilitating a visioning process over a three-day period. The resulting educational plan called for the school to be organized into five small learning communities with a central “learning lab” and gathering area. Prior to delivering the full design, KMBR worked with the client to develop a Project Definition Report (PDR) that detailed the funding request, two development options, a recommended procurement process, a risk management plan, financial plan, and project schedule.
